Meaningful change is risky business & it can be disruptive. Therapy is an experiment in growing the resilience we need to make the most out of life. I love working with women to better understand the complex dynamics at play in relationship to themselves & others. With the help of attachment theory, we explore underlying motivations, experiences & developmental influences that inform our ability (or inability) to authentically participate in our lives. My approach is collaborative, interpersonal & depth oriented. If we come to know ourselves best in relationship, my hope is ours becomes a safe harbor as you live out the hard questions of life. Not every question will have an answer, but the connection & hope derived from therapy, may just empower whatever you discover, to become an instrument of peace in your unfolding story.

About Me

My name is Whitney Losee. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in WA State (LH61135592). I have a Bachelor of Kinesiology & Bachelor of Theology from Trinity Western University (2008). I received my Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology (TSS) in 2019. I was trained in an anti-oppression, intersectional feminist approach to psychotherapy at the MEND Institute. I was the Milieu Clinical Lead at Opal: Food + Body Wisdom (Seattle), an eating disorder treatment center founded on Health at Every Size (HAES) & Radically Open Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (RO-DBT). I continue to be an Instructional Assistant at TSS throughout the academic year. I operate from a psychodynamic, attachment focused therapeutic lens in my private practice.

Prior to being a therapist, I was a mountaineer guide, a Wilderness Therapy Youth & Family Support Worker & a collegiate athlete. These, among other roles in my life, continue to influence my personal & clinical lens greatly. When not working, I am usually found in a dog pile with my kids or roaming our neighborhood beach. I like to have a few creative projects on the go & a couple outdoor adventures on the books.

I identify as cis female, white, straight & able-bodied. I am a wife & mother. I am from B.C., Canada & live in Seattle, WA. I am a dual-citizen. My pronouns are she/her/hers.

“To pay attention is our endless & proper work”
